Not Built By Slaves
The ancient Egyptians built more than 130 pyramids over 3,800 years. The largest and oldest is the Great Pyramid of Giza, built between 2550 and 2490 BC. It wasn’t built by slaves, but by professional craftsmen and laborers. The ancient Egyptians used copper tools and wooden levers to shape and move the stones. The stones were transported to the site by boats along the Nile River. It is estimated that the Great Pyramid took over 20 years to build.
