Samoyed
This smiley-faced dog is also known as Bjelkie, Smiley, Sammy for its appearance and friendly nature which makes it more desirable to dog lovers. Originated mainly in Northwest Russia and Western Siberia, it got its name from the Samoyedic people living in Siberia. They used to keep them for hunting, herding reindeer and hauling sledges. It is actually a basal breed dog, part of the spitz or northern dog group and closely related to laikas or Eurasian dogs.
