Bill Cosby’s Sexual Assault Allegations

For years, women came forward accusing Bill Cosby of sexual assault. In 2005, the National Enquirer was going to publish an interview with Beth Ferrier, a model who accused the actor/comedian of sexually assaulting her in the mid-‘80s. Also in 2005, Andrea Constand accused him drugging and sexually assaulting her. Cosby managed to convince the National Enquirer in 2005 to bury Ferrier’s story by giving the magazine an exclusive interview.

As a result, it wasn’t until 2014 when Hannibal Buress brought up the allegations during one of his standup routines that the world took notice. More and more and women came forward and Constand’s accusations from 2005 resulted in criminal charges against Cosby. Although the 2017 trial ended in a mistrial, in 2018, The Cosby Show star was found guilty of three counts of aggravated indecent assault and sentenced to three to 10 years in prison.
