Burg Hohenwerfen Castle
Burg Hohenwerfen Castle is an alluring castle located in the fourth-largest city in Austria, Salzburg. Simply stunning to see the castle sitting atop the hill, the castle was built by the Archbishops of Salzburg in the 11th century. The fort was built between 1075 and 1078 at an elevation as high as 155-meter. The castle is featured is some of the most popular movies and videogames. And to name some, the movie where it was featured was “Where Eagles Dare” filmed in the 1968 and the videogame in “Call of Duty: Black Ops III”, emphasizing the zombie map. Currently, the castle is owned by the state of Salzburg, which was previously in hands of Habsburg family of Austria.
